The Norman High Tigers’ varsity football team will kick off their season on Friday, September 5th, at 7:30 PM against its crosstown rival, Norman North, at the Timberwolves’ new stadium.

The Tigers had two scrimmages against Putman City North and Southmoore in August, preparing them for a slate against a number of quality teams in 2025.
In the regular season, Norman High will face Edmond Santa Fe, Piedmont, Jenks, Moore, Mustang, and Bixby at home.
They will face Norman North, Edmond North, Enid, and Deer Creek on the road.
Bixby, the defending 6A-1 State Champions, who the Tigers upset last year, come to Norman for Senior Night in one of the most anticipated games of the season.
3rd-year Norman High Running Backs coach, Dionta Defreeze, is excited for the growth of this year’s team.
“I am looking forward to watching our guys grow each week,” said Defreeze. “I feel like we can build on last year’s season. I believe we got a special group.”
Outside Linebacker Coach, Scott Hennigan, says he’s confident about the team’s potential.
“I’m excited to build on our success from last year,” said Hennigan. “There’s also excitement to push through to our full potential.”
The Tigers will return many of the players from their 10-2 run last year. Both coaches listed players to watch, mentioning guys like WR Crew Noles, LB Noah Hoelzer, DB Addox Sanders, RB Anthony Johnson, WR Haynes Hartsock, DB Drew Hilderbrand, and OL Jaxon Sheats.
For those attending Cross Town Clash this Friday, the gates will open at 6:00 PM, and tickets will be $5 per student. Make sure to bring your ID.
